Trojan.PSW.basedThis family of trojan programs joins the password stealing tools
(Password-Stealing-Ware). When run in the system these programs
looks for system data files (usually phone numbers and Internet access
passwords) and send them to the trojan author(s).
These programs usually are Windows-based, they use Windows
functions and System Registry to locate necessary data files, then they
establish the Internet connection and send the data to some email
address(es). There are also DOS password stealing trojans knonw, but
they are not too wildspread.
Some Windows-based PSW trojans also copy themselves to the
Windows directory and register themselves in System Registry to get
control on each rebooting. This kind of PSW trojans is more dangerous,
because they can send the confidential data out of the computer during
all the time they are installed in the system.
